APWWS organizes Legal Awareness Program at Karsingsa
A one-day National Women Commission sponsored legal awareness program was organized by Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society at Karsingsa Govt Middle School.
The main aim and objectives of the program was to enlighten the student and public of Karsingsa laws relating to human rights, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act 1985, Criminal Law(Amendment) Act 2013, Protection of Children from Sexual offences Act 2012 etc.
APWWS president Gumri Ringu explained the legal provisions for the welfare of women citing Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005.
Another resource person OC Banderdewa Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Al Pandey briefed about various law and order problems created due to availability of narcotic drugs in Banderdewa area.
Advocate Tania Kipa highlighted on DK Basu Guidelines on human rights and various other women and child friendly laws. He also urged the policy makers of the state to establish drug rehab centers.
The programme was attended by Panchayat members, GBs, all the students, teaching staff and general public of Karsingsa.
